Amputee Support
Preston's Amputee Support Group joined the umbrella of Preston Disc in January 2003. The group was adopted as the existing host for them, the Disablement Services Centre, Royal Preston Hospital, was unable to continue their valuable support. Under the groups instructions their monthly programme continued, with new programmes of activiites put together on an annual basis. The group continues to meet up once a month to get together and take part in activities, to socialise and help each other.
The group enjoys numerous activities including: Crown Green bowling, Ten pin bowling, Meals out, Arts activities, the Football Museum and many others.
Why did you want to attend the Disc Amputee Support Group ?
'' I joined the Amputee support group to meet other amputee's and to learn how to cope with my new life as an amputee and to join in the group outings, doing things I never thought possible for amputees.''
